South Carolina: Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart has emerged as a front-runner at South Carolina, according to a report from Bruce Feldman.

Maryland: Michigan defensive coordinator DJ Durkin has emerged as a strong candidate at Maryland and has met with school officials about their head coaching vacancy, according to Pat Forde of Yahoo Sports. Forde notes that “no job offer was made, but the interview went well” and that it’s not clear how many other candidates the school has interviewed, or will interview.

West Hills Community College (JC – CA): West Hills Community College District is looking for to hire a head coach / . The selected individual will be expected to teach football classes and other classes as assigned, communicate with students/athletes, recruit students/athletes for the program, supervise study sessions, develop and manage the football budget and follow the policies, procedures and guidelines of the District, Athletic Department and the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA). The instructor/head football coach must be able to communicate with coaching staff, faculty and administration. The successful candidate will teach a variety of classes and may include teaching at any of the District sites. This individual must be dedicated to serving students of diverse backgrounds and educational levels. This position is contracted for 199 days and will begin July 1, 2016.
