2011 Defensive Backs Coach of the Year

2011 Defensive Backs Coach of the Year

The FootballScoop Coaches of the Year awards presented by SpeedTracs are the only set of awards that recognize the most outstanding position coaches in college football.  Finalists were selected based off of nominations by coaches, athletic directors, and athletic department personnel. A panel of coaches, including previous recipients, will determine the the 2011 winner. Votes tallied on this page are considered; however our panel will make the final decision.  Voting for this award ends on Thursday December 8th.

Previous winners of the Defensive Backs Coach of the Year award are Tim Billings (Wake Forest, 2008), Troy Douglas and Everett Withers (North Carolina, 2009) and Clay Jennings and Chad Glasgow (TCU, 2010).

Ron Cooper – Louisiana State University

You might have heard of the Honey Badger, the most explosive, game changing defensive player in college football…but he might not even be the best DB on Ron Cooper’s squad. The way Coach Cooper recruits and prepares his players is top notch…and then they execute better than most, if not every other squad out there.
