With the coaching carousel once again underway, we've created the 2017-18 coaching changes page.
Consider this your one-stop shop for coaching changes at every level of football – NFL, NCAA and NAIA – throughout the fall and winter, so check back frequently. For your reference, here are the lists of changes for the 2012-13, 2013-14, 2014-15, 2015-16, and the 2016-2017 seasons.
There have been seven coaching changes at the NFL level through Jan. 21, and all of them have been filled as of Feb. 11. Last year, six jobs came open. There were seven changes following the 2015 season.
In FBS, 21 jobs have opened as of Jan. 2 and all 21 have been filled. Number of changes over the past seven seasons: 22 (2008), 23 (2009), 24 (2010), 28 (2011), 31 (2012), 20 (2013), 15 (2014) and 29 (2015), 21 (2016).
In FCS, 24 jobs have come open and all jobs have now been filled. Fifteen jobs came open during the 2016 off season, and a total of 19 schools changed coaches after the 2015 season.
Fifteen schools have made changes in Division II, and all 15 have been filled. Twenty-six jobs opened at the D-II level after last season.
Twenty-five schools at the Division III level have announced a change and 24 vacancies have been filled as of April 25. In Division III, 25 schools hired new head coaches after last year.
There have been ten NAIA coaching changes as of March 8th. All but one have been filled. Last off season, 13 NAIA coaching changes took place.
