Yale (FCS): Yale Football Strength and Conditioning is seeking qualified candidates to fill available internship positions for the Spring 2025 semester. This internship includes a classroom lecture component as well as comprehensive hours in the weight room alongside full-time coaches for a hands-on experience at the Division I level. Students will not only gain the knowledge of program design and theory, nutrition, athletic testing, and leadership, but also have the chance to apply what they have learned in a practical setting with Division I athletes. Interns have the opportunity to work with a variety of emerging technologies in the field including Force plates, GPS Tracking, Velocity Based Training, Speed Training Technology, and more. Interns will have the opportunity to be part of game day operations.

The goal of this internship is to give interns the necessary tools to obtain jobs within the strength and conditioning field. The hours will closely resemble that of a full-time strength and conditioning coach. Experience gained through our program can be used towards academic credits for college. This is an NSCA accredited continuing education site. You will receive 2 continuing education units (CEU’s) upon completion. The ideal prospective candidate would be a current or recently graduated college student. Preference will be given to those who have studied Exercise Science; however, all professional backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Additional considerations will be given to those who have an athletic or coaching background, as well as those who are eager to gain experience coaching in a collegiate strength and conditioning setting. Detroit Mercy: The University of Detroit Mercy is seeking 2 UNPAID interns for the spring 2025 semester. Interns will have the opportunity to assist with 17 Division I trams including men's and women's basketball, gain experience coaching, and gain experience with various technology including GPS, VBT, and management software. Interns will also assist with the sports nutrition program. The internship will begin January 6th 2025 and run throught the first week of May 2025. Arkansas: The University of Arkansas Football Strength and Conditioning Department is seeking highly motivated candidates for the Spring 2025 internship program. Candidates: The program is designed for young strength coaches to gain experience and knowledge in a collegiate setting. Individuals will have an opportunity to work with 5 different S&C coaches including two Master Strength Coaches approved through the CSCCa. Candidates that are interested in the internship position are required to complete the 640 hours required by the CSCCa to take the certification exam. (Not all candidates have to complete CSCCa requirements, however, the option will be available). Qualifications: currently pursuing Bachelors/Masters in Exercise Science or related field, certified in CPR/First Aid, and a STRONG DESIRE to become a COLLEGIATE STRENGTH and CONDITIONING COACH. Idaho State (FCS): Idaho State University Sports Performance invites applications for the full-time position of Assistant Sports Performance Coach. Qualified individuals will assist the Director of Football Performance in all aspects of sports performance (strength and conditioning, nutrition, etc.). This position will also be responsible for the design and implementation of sports performance programs for the Men’s and Women’s Track & Field teams at Idaho State University. Salary: $35,000 + Comprehensive Benefits Package. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in an exercise science related field; Minimum of two years experience working in a collegiate strength and conditioning program, including graduate assistant experience; CPR/AED Certification, Current certification by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists (CSCS), or the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa) as Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC); Ability to work a flexible schedule (May include early morning, evening, or weekend hours); Maintain knowledge of, and compliance with, all applicable NCAA, Big Sky conference, and institutional rules and regulations; Demonstrate the ability to successfully work with both students and staff from diverse backgrounds. Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in related field; NCAA Division I coaching experience; Experience working with Football and Track & Field; USAW-SPL1, USTFCCA-SCC, and/or other applicable certifications. Responsibilities: Please see attached job description. Roosevelt (D-II - IL): Roosevelt University is currently seeking qualified volunteer internship candidates for the 2025 Spring Term. The strength and conditioning program will run from January 13th (date flexible) through the end of April. This is an UNPAID position; however, it is acceptable to have a part-time job assisting with personal finances. Oregon State: The Oregon State University Football Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for Volunteer Interns for the winter and spring quarters of 2025. This internship will begin January 13, 2025, and will conclude at the end of May, 2025. This is an unpaid position. Compensation will include gear, learning from an approved mentor via the CSCCa, potential to sit for the SCCC certification, and recommendations for future career opportunities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program for the Oregon State University Football team, set up and break down for daily training, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities, experience working with Catapult GPS software, and completion of a multi-faceted internship curriculum. Required qualifications include a strong work ethic, completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or a related field of study, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional in the collegiate or professional setting. All applicants should have, or be working towards an accredited certification (CSCS or SCCC). Other preferred qualifications include previous coaching in a collegiate setting and personal involvement in a collegiate sport. Applications will be taken until the positions are filled.
