Air Force unveils latest specialty uniform (uniforms)

Army and Navy have donned special uniforms for their annual game for close to a decade now, but those two aren't the only service academies playing football at the FBS level and they're not the only schools with their own special uniform tradition.

Now in its fourth year, Air Force annually trots out the Air Power Legacy series, honoring the history and legacy of the United States Air Force Academy.

The tradition began in 2016 with these beauties.

This fall, Air Force will honor the C-17, a large military transport ship.

The helmet is flat gray and designed after the plane. The gray uniform with black lettering features nine Air Force base tail flashes in place of the nameplate on the back of the jersey. The helmet is flat gray and designed after the nose of the plane. The nine bases are Charleston Air Force Base, South Carolina, Dover Air Force Base, Delaware, Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska, Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey, March Air Reserve Base, California, Travis Air Force Base, California, and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.
