Old man strength is real, and the St. Thomas University football team saw it first hand.
The upstart football program -- not to be confused with the Division III turned possibly Division I University of St. Thomas in Minnesota -- will begin play this fall as an NAIA program, and the Bobcats welcomed a new player to practice recently. That player is STU president David A. Armstrong, who looks like this.
Despite his lack of age and complete lack of recent football training, Armstong gets into his three-point stance, sheds a block and drives the ball carrier straight out of bounds. You be the judge if everyone's going full speed here.

Anyway, one way to erase any doubt that the football program is supported by university administration is to put the school president in pads and a helmet.
