Video: Experience Louisville's $55 million stadium expansion (Featured)

By the start of fall camp in 2018, Louisville hopes to some major expansions done at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.

The expansion includes plans to enclose the north end zone with seating, and expanding the Howard Schnellenberger team complex. Construction on the stadium will be minimal during the 2017 season as to not interfere with the game day experience of fans.

According to a piece earlier this year on Card Chronicle, the enclosed seating in the end zone will give the stadium a really nice look, and will include 1,000 club seats, 70 premium boxes, and 12 exclusive field level suites - which are the real crown jewel of the expansion. The field level suites will provide a true one-of-a-kind fan experience with a perspective that few other stadiums can match.

At today's presser, athletic director Tom Jurich noted that the field level suites and premium boxes are already sold out.

The football complex itself will also undergo some big changes, most notably doubling the size of the team's weight room and conditioning center, which will add 70,000 square feet. Also being added are a hydrotherapy area with all the bells and whistles, a more luxurious player's lounge, and improvements to coaches offices, the locker room, and meeting areas. Here's a look at what the stadium will look like once the renovations are done.
