It's been a tough season at Kent State. The Golden Flashes are 1-7, but aren't that far away from being 4-4, with close losses to Ohio, South Alabama, Northern Illinois and Miami (Ohio). With 10 days off between games - thanks, MACtion! - Paul Haynes took his guys' minds of football and had them attend the school's annual Jock Jams event this week.
The football team usually can't attend the event, but the schedule opened up an opportunity, and Haynes allowed players performing well in the classroom to get a skit together, have fun, and raise money for a local charity.
Nice to see Haynes, a Kent State alum, jump in the action, all while giving his players an education to life outside football and raising $10,000 for a good cause in the process.
