Matt Hewitt leaving Rutgers to teach and coach locally (Rutgers Football)

They say, at some point you figure out what your purpose is.

Today, I'm here to tell you Matt Hewitt has figured out why he is here.

After nine years on staff at Rutgers, Hewitt has announced he is stepping down and will begin a new career, teaching and coaching at Malcolm X Shabazz High School in Newark.

For years Hewitt has poured his soul into helping teenagers find a way to college and helping collegiate athletes find their purpose. Today, coach Hewitt has decided its time to invest in the lives of his own, school aged children.

Hewitt worked in various recruiting roles over his first few seasons at Rutgers. He currently was serving as assistant tight ends coach and has worked on both sides of the ball as well.

Hewitt will be missed by many at Rutgers. Cheers to this next adventure!
