He hasn't coached a single game as Central Michigan's head man, but Matt Drinkall already has some juice.
The proof?
Well, the NFL is plucking a Chippewas staff member, sources told FootballScoop's Doug Samuels.
Brandon Blaney, a nearly 30-year coaching veteran who's been extremely complimentary of Drinkall's arrival at CMU, is heading to the NFL, several sources tell FootballScoop.
Blaney is joining the staff of the New York Jets and first-year coach Aaron Glenn in a yet-to-be-defined role.
Drinkall had made Blaney a senior analyst in the Central Michigan program upon Drinkall's hiring away from Army last December, where he had been named the FootballScoop Offensive Line Coach of the Year and his unit earned the Joe Moore Award for college football's top offensive line.
Blaney has previous NFL experience with the league's Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars; he also owned Power Conference work from his time at the University of Michigan.
