Sources: Purdue making offensive staff changes (Purdue)

On the heels of his first season rebuilding the Purdue football program, Barry Odom is making changes to his Boilermakers coaching staff.

Sources with direct knowledge tell FootballScoop that Odom is parting ways with offensive line coach Vance Vice.

Additionally, sources shared that players were informed that Vice would not be retained this morning.

Odom also is parting ways with running backs coach Lamar Conard after just one season in West Lafayette, Indiana. On3 first reported the news on Conard, who is a Purdue alum.

Vice is a veteran coach with experience throughout the sport, including a lengthy Power Conference-stretch under Justin Fuente at Virginia Tech.

He also had coached with Odom the previous two years at UNLV before rejoining him when Odom took over at Purdue.

Purdue's offense averaged 133 rushing yards per game and yielded just 19 sacks in the 12-game 2025 season.

Purdue closed the year on a 10-game losing streak after a 2-0 start and a strong showing in an eventual Game 3 loss to USC led initiated the skid.

The Boilermakers now have lost 29 games in the past three years, the first two of those under fired former coach Ryan Walters.

It's a start contrast from the consistently competitive program under former coach Jeff Brohm, now at Louisville; Brohm won a combined 17 games in his final two seasons at the helm.
