Joe Conlin stabilized Fordham football, helped the program turn the corner with three consecutive winning seasons earlier this decade and then watched the Rams dip to their worst record of Conlin's nearly decade-long tenure with a 1-11 mark in 2025.
That followed up a 2-10 2024 season.
And those two campaigns now have resulted in massive staff turnover at Fordham, sources tell FootballScoop.
A Pittsburgh alum and former starting defensive tackle for the Panthers, Conlin is overhauling key pieces among his defensive staff as well as two offensive assistants, bringing the number to four coaches not being retained, sources share Tuesday with FootballScoop.
"More change is possible," a source added.
Expected gone from Fordham's defensive coaching staff are the following coaches:
— Defensive line coach Corey Burns, who had been on Fordham's staff the past three seasons and also helped coach Matt Jaworski to first-team All-Patriot League honors as well as Defensive Player of the Year in 2024.
— Cornerbacks coach Tyler Henderson. On staff at Fordham the past two seasons, Henderson also has Power Conference experience from time being on staff at Florida.
— Running backs coach and recruiting coordinator Ben Wilkerson. In the key recruiting coordinator role and on staff the past three seasons, Wilkerson also previously coached at the Football Bowls Subdivision level at Buffalo.
— Tight ends coach/special teams coordinator Andrew DiRienzo. He has been on staff at Fordham the past three seasons and has previous Power Conference experience at Rutgers.
Fordham has particularly struggled in Patriot League play its past two seasons when it has posted three conference wins against 10 league losses.
The Rams have not made an official announcement but could be scheduled to face Colgate to open the 2026 season in Week Zero in an Aug. 29, 2026 contest.
