Sources: Bucknell to hire Division III head coach (Bucknell football)

Bucknell is set to hire John Carroll University head coach Jeff Behrman to the same position, sources told FootballScoop on Thursday.

Bucknell, an FCS school in Lewisburg, Pa., went 5-7 in 2025. Dave Cecchini was let go as head coach on Dec. 8.

Behrman spent the past three seasons as the head coach at John Carroll, a Division III school in University Heights, Ohio. Under his direction, the Blue Streaks went 29-7, including a 12-2 mark with a trip to the Division III semifinals this season.

Prior to taking the job at John Carroll, his alma mater, Behrman was the head coach at Union College, a Division III school in Upstate New York, where he went 42-20 in six seasons. Union went 0-10 in 2015, the year prior to his hiring, and enjoyed a 10-0 season with a trip to the second round of the D-III playoffs by 2019. He spent 10 seasons as the offensive coordinator at Stony Brook prior to landing the Union job, helping the Seawolves win four Big South championships and reach two FCS quarterfinals.

Bucknell, best known for the occasional NCAA Tournament upset, last enjoyed a winning season in football in 2014.
