Jimmy Johnson goes off on Bill Belichick's Hall of Fame snub (Bill Belichick)

Jimmy Johnson used to be a tweet-every-couple-of-days guy. That was until Bill Belichick was snubbed from the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Since the news went public on Tuesday evening, the 82-year-old has tweeted 11 times as of this writing. In multiple messages, Johnson called for the "assholes" who voted against Belichick to identify themselves.

And for those wondering if this was someone tweeting on Johnson's behalf, the following tweet should dispel that notion. Johnson woke up Wednesday morning to resume his public ranting while somehow quoting a completely unrelated highlight of a Houston Texans field goal in their loss to the Patriots two weeks ago.

A member of the College and Pro Football Halls of Fame, Johnson had to wait 21 years from his 1999 retirement to his 2020 induction to get his gold jacket. Then again, Johnson's two wins are merely a third of Belichick's six.

There's been some theorizing that the 11-or-so voters who did not vote for Belichick may have sone so as a form of vigilante justice for the Deflategate or Spygate scandals that occurred under Belichick's watch. Johnson exonerated Belichick on the Spygate count.

We'll likely never know for sure who specifically was responsible for the Belichick snub, soon we'll likely be able to narrow the offenders down to a precious few.

Belichick will almost certainly get into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2027. By then it'll be too late to save the Hall's credibility.
