Player asks Urban if he really enjoys coaching: "I said yes. Then I said no. Then yes, then no." (Featured)

At his weekly presser earlier in the week, Urban Meyer was asked a very run-of-the-mill question about early enrollees, but his answer was anything but normal, and his response is something that a lot of coaches can relate to.

At the facility recently, Urban explained that a player came in and asked him a rather simple and straightforward question: "Do you really enjoy coaching?"

Meyer's response?

"I said yes. Then I go no. Then I go yes, then I go no," Meyer replied. "Then I asked for an emergency team meeting, just about ten minutes after that."

"I told them I just had a player ask me that, and I responded yes, I love coaching the good students, the good guy that does everything right," Meyer noted before rattling off the early enrollees and saying how they're all good guys with over 3.0 GPAs and perfect class attendance that do everything right.

"Then I can give you a list of names that, no, I don't like coaching those guys. As a matter of fact, I have a hard time being around them. We try to be honest with our players as much as we can because we want everyone to be like that."

"You never know what you're going to get. Sometimes high school coaches, and other people tell you that they're the greatest people in the world, and they get here and they're not. So we try to [encourage them to] change."
