AD Scoop - Friday April 7, 2017

Friday April 7, 2017

North Texas: In response to rumors of a coming opening at Oklahoma State, North Texas AD Wren Baker issued this statement to the Denton Record-Chronicle: "I haven't spoken with anyone about any other jobs. We have only scratched the surface and I'm excited about the trajectory of our programs at UNT. More importantly I appreciate the people here. I have a great president and support from our administration. We have tremendous student-athletes, coaches and staff members, and I'm honored to have the opportunity to lead them." Baker got his start in athletics administration as an operations assistant with the Cowboys' basketball team.

Tennessee-Martin: Finalists for the vacant UT-Martin AD job are Clayton State AD Tim Duncan, Missouri Western State AD Kurt McGuffin, UAB senior associate AD for internal operations Shannon Ealy, and Northern Iowa deputy AD for external operations Steve Schofield. Each will take part in an open forum during their respective on-campus interviews. The new hire is expected to be on the job by July 1.
