As if Alabama didn't already have enough advantages... (Alabama)

With Lane Kiffin and Steve Sarkisian both off to new endeavors, Alabama has hired Brian Daboll to serve as its offensive coordinator.

Daboll was formerly the offensive coordinator for the Cleveland Browns, Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs, and most recently served as the New England Patriots' tight ends coach before returning to the college game for the first time since he was a graduate assistant for Nick Saban at Michigan State in 1999. This, however, does not -- does NOT -- mean the Crimson Tide's offense is moving in the direction of becoming an NFL-style ball-control unit. Seriously, don't ask Saban about it.

But that doesn't mean Alabama can't take advantages of certain privileges afforded by hiring a coach away from The League's reigning champions. Like, for instance, FaceTiming with Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski.

Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts met with reporters today and said he has used the game's best living quarterback and its gronkiest (yes, that's a word... that I just invented) tight end as sounding boards to understand the new scheme he's installing. He has not, however, spoken with Giselle.
