Kansas, who has struggled offensively this season en route to an 0-9 mark heading into their season finale with Texas, quietly made a change at offensive line coach a few weeks ago now.
Luke Meadows came to Kansas on Les Miles' first staff after spending a few seasons helping turn things around at Eastern Michigan under Chris Creighton. He brought with him experience working with FBS offensive lines at Southern Miss (2014-15) and FAU (2012-13).
With Meadows out, we understand senior offensive analyst John Morookian has stepped in to work with the offensive line.
It marks the first on-field coaching opportunity for Morookian at the FBS level after getting experience serving in quality control and graduate assistant capacities the last several seasons.
Prior to joining the Kansas staff, Morookian spent the past two season at Iowa State on Matt Campbell's staff as an offensive quality control assistant. During his time with the Cyclones, the offense set a number of school records.
Before his time in Ames and Lawrence, Morookian spent time as a graduate assistant at Toledo (where he also worked under Matt Campbell) and Indiana and coached his own positions at the Division II level in Ohio at Tiffin (OL) and Findlay (TEs).
Texas, who paused team activities yesterday after several positive COVID tests, is scheduled to take on Kansas in Lawrence Saturday afternoon.
