Addazio gets a "W" last night
Temple and Steve Addazio got a big win last night to stop their 2 game skid with a 24-21 win over Miami (OH). Their past two losses came by a combined 7 points, and three of their four losses have been by a combined 11 points.
On thing seems evident, the coaching staff has the entire depth chart ready to play. Last week Addazio substituted quarterback Chris Coyer into the game with the plan of getting him a few series. Coyer didn't come back out and ran for 184 yards. This week, in Coyer's first collegiate start, quarterbacks coach Scot Loeffler had him ready and Coyer produced 97 yards rushing.
15 minutes before kickoff last night, starting running back Bernard Pierce was ruled unavailble. Running backs coach Tyree Foreman had back up running back Matt Brown ready to go as he ran for 121 yards on 24 carries.
Addazio and the Owls will look to wrap up their 6-4 season as they finish up with Army (3-6), and Kent State (3-6, 2-3). As we outlined last night, here's an example of a great job by a first year head coach and his staff.
