Coaches that have been a part of 15 different staffs

Two weeks ago, we set out on a quest to identify any active coach that has been a part of 15 staffs during his career. We found more than we thought; but honestly we had a bunch of guys come to mind that we thought would have been on 15 staffs that actually have only made it thus far onto 12, 13 or 14...keep working guys!

Here's what our crack staff came up with...

Phil Elmassian was the first coach to come to mind. Currently the linebackers coach at Purdue, Elmassian by our count has served on 20 staffs. Elmassian's stops include: Purdue, Illinois State, Louisiana Monroe, Nebraska, Purdue, Marshall, West Virginia, LSU, Wisconsin, Washington, Boston College, Virginia Tech, Syracuse, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Minnesota, East Carolina, Ferrum College, Richmond, William & Mary

Dick Hopkins, secondary coach at FAU is another (17 staffs). Hopkins staff's include: FAU, Duquesne, Chattanooga, Rhode Island, The Citadel, James Madison, Tulane, Yale, Temple, Vanderbilt, Rice, Cincinnati, Duke, Florida State, Twin Lakes HS, Forest HS and Florida State.

Steve Axman, offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach, at Idaho has coached on 17 staffs, including: Idaho, Montana, Washington, UCLA, Washington, Minnesota, Northern Arizona, Maryland, UCLA, Stanford, Denver Gold (USFL), Arizona, Illinois, Army, Albany State, East Stroudsburg, MacArthur HS.

Jeff Reinebold, wide receivers coach at SMU, has served on 17 staffs as well. Coach Reinebold's stops include: SMU, Hawaii, LA Tech, Amsterdam (NFL Europe), Rhein (NFL Europe), Winnipeg (CFL), BC (CFL), Edmonton (CFL), Rhein (NFL Europe), Las Vegas (CFL), BC (CFL), New Mexico, Rocky Mountain College, Penn, Montana, Dartmouth, Western Montana.

Mike Church, defensive coordinator at Menlo College, has coached as part of 19 staffs. At the collegiate level, Church's stops include: Menlo, Cal Poly, San Jose State, UTEP, Washington State, Northwestern, Missouri, Cal and Nebraska. In Arena, he coached with both the Los Angeles Avengers and the San Jose Sabercats. Church also coached in the USFL, the XFL and in Europe.

Ron McCrone, Cornell's defensive coordinator, has coached on over 20 staffs. Prior to Cornell, McCrone coached at Jacksonville University, UAB, Southern Miss, Southwest Missouri State, Florida, Auburn, Ole Miss, Duke, Vanderbilt, Temple, UT Martin, the Tampa Bay Bandits, Citrus HS, Orange Park HS, Paxon HS, UTEP, UCF, Alabama State, Tallahassee Thunder, Jacksonville Tomcats, and Gordon Military College.
