Colorado State head coach Steve Fairchild let it fly after the Rams’ recent scrimmage.
Fairchild said, "Offensively we stunk up the field today. We had 16 penalties, 12 procedures. Our first five plays, we had a procedure and turnover. I put that on players and coaches; we just didn`t show up like we wanted to play. We`re not accountable offensively."
Flashback one year ago.
At that time, Fairchild stated, "the absolute worst practice in my 30 years of coaching that I`ve seen at quarterback."
Fairchild then went on to say, "Tell Dan (Hawkins, CU head coach) if we were playing tomorrow, it would be silly of me to call a pass play the way our quarterbacks are playing."
As The Daily Camera newspaper reports, Fairchild can, “sling the bull once in a while. (But) This is not a knock on Fairchild. The guy is a heck of a coach. If anyone can take CSU back to respectability in the Mountain West, it`s Fairchild. Colorado State is lucky to have him. He can coach, he can recruit and he can motivate.”
Colorado State opens with Colorado on September 4th. The game will be played in Denver, CO.
