We're always on the look out for things we think would benefit high school, college and professional football staffs across America. Coaches helping coaches is our livelihood. It's with that in mind that we share this awesome graphic of team values that the folks at Ohio brought to our attention.
You may not have the budget or the wall space to lay out the RISE UP acronym below, but we think this point can get across just as well on a wall or an index card.
Why did Ohio choose those specific words for their team's core values? Over the summer, assistant AD for football operations Jason Grooms took the Bobcats' team unity council to a cabin retreat with Army ranger and ROTC director Bill Hauschild and, over a campfire, the group collectively developed this acronym. "We continue to do leadership and character training with the unity council but we also launched a player development program for the entire team," Grooms told us. "Its purpose is to develop the complete student-athlete and prepare long term for 'athletic retirement'."
