DIII opening in Michigan

After 21 years, Jim Cole announced his retirement as head coach at Alma College earlier today.

Cole compiled a 114-90 record since being hired in 1991, and retires as the schools all time leader in wins. In his tenure, Cole won two conference titles and led Alma to two NCAA playoff appearances. A national search for Cole's successor will being immediately.

Alma finished this season at 2-8, but Cole leaves the Alma program in overall good shape, with their last conference title coming in 2004. Because of the close proximity of other MIAA football programs, we are told that the administration will look for someone with success on the recruiting trail.
