According to the Columbus Dispatch, Ohio State has decided to do away with the courtesy car program for their head coaches and other athletic department personnel, and will end up saving over half a million dollars.
Athletic Director Gene Smith and the athletic department are said to be saving an estimated $612,000 by cutting the tradition that has spanned several decades.
Instead, coaches will be allotted a $600 monthly car stipend. Most businesses made this same move about 5 years ago. No-brainer.
