Yesterday, as part of a bye week practice, USC held a bowl game of sorts...featuring exclusively walk-ons.
It looks like most of the rest of the roster was in attendance as well, cheering on the guys that work just as hard as the scholarship guys and play such a pivotal role for the rest of the team on the scout teams during the week. They definitely brought a ton of energy to the field that the walk-ons fed off from.
At the end of the first annual "Trojan Bowl" coach Orgeron threw everyone a curve ball and lined the offense up at the three yard line with two plays to score. The winner was crowned the first annual Trojan Bowl champ (trophy not included).
Great move here by the staff getting the walk-on's some quality reps and recognition, and while there is definitely more than one way to do it, getting the guys you have on your roster that don't see the field a whole lot a few extra reps can really pay off for you and your program in the long run.
