Fake punt...throwback to the center!!!??!!!!!
The Scoop took in an FCS ballgame Saturday night at beautiful Strawberry Stadium, home of the Southeastern Lions. First year head coach Ron Roberts and his team had their hands full with Matt Viator's undefeated McNeese State Cowboys.
McNeese opened up a good size lead early on; but Southeastern fought their way back in the second half. Southeastern scored a touchdown with about 2 minutes to play to cut the lead to one. After a penalty against McNeese moved the ball to just outside the 1, Roberts decided to go for two and the win...and they got it. Southeastern wins 25-24.
But, let's talk about that fake...
With about 9 minutes to play, facing a 4th & 11 on their own 34 down 7, Roberts called a dandy of a fake punt...
