Kansas State plans $75 million stadium expansion

Kansas State is set to embark on Phase Two of Bill Snyder Family Stadium renovations totaling $75 million dollars.

The renovations will replace the original facilities that are over 40 years old, as well as the press box. The new 250,000 square foot facility will triple the amount of concession areas, double the amount of restrooms, as well as added ticket and retail locations on the west end of the complex.

Athletic director John Currie said that "There will be something in this facility for every fan and student-athlete, and it will show that we are fully committed to maintaining, as well as furthering, our position as a leader at the highest level of intercollegiate athletics."

Kansas State has said that no tax or tuition dollars will be used, and that one third of the money needed has already been raised. The project will need at least 50% of the funds before the groundbreaking can occur.

The plan is to break ground prior to the 2012 season and be completed in time for the kick off of the 2013 season.
