Cincinnati head coach Butch Jones and athletic director Whit Babcock sat down with the media to discuss Butch's contract extension yesterday.
Babcock cited Jones' commitment to building "something special" at Cinci as a large reason for the extension. Babcock went on to say that he has never been around a program where players play so hard, from the opening kickoff to the end of the game like they do for Butch.
The contract extension will run through 2017 and will bring his salary to $2.05 million at that time. He will also be eligible for bonuses of about $300,000 per year if he stays, according to ESPN.
