The Mid American Conference has released their schedule for 2013, which can be seen here.
Thirteen of the conference's games will be featured during mid-week action...or as we like to call it "MACtion". That's nearly triple what the MAC churned out during the week last season (just five games).
According to the release, the MAC will face off against eight teams that finished last season ranked in the top 25. Those teams include Ohio State, Florida, Kansas State, Louisville, LSU, Northwestern, Vanderbilt and Michigan.
As far as major conferences go, the Big Ten leads the way with a total of 13 MAC schools scheduled, followed by the SEC with six and the Big 12 and ACC each have two MAC teams featured.
Games that jump out to us after reviewing the schedule include; Paul Haynes' back to back road trips to LSU and Penn State in September, Central Michigan heading down to NC State to take on Dave Doeren's Wolfpack in late September, Rod Carey opening up his NIU tenure with a trip to Iowa, Toledo taking on Florida in their season opener, and PJ Fleck opening up his head coaching career at Western Michigan with road trips to Michigan State, Northwestern and Iowa in three of his first four games.
