Ever since his playing days at “The U,” Michael Irvin has been a loyal supporter of the Miami Hurricanes football program.
Irvin helped lead Miami (FL) to the 1987 national championship. He finished his career with 143 receptions and 26 touchdowns. Irvin went on to be selected #11 overall in the NFL draft by the Dallas Cowboys and ever since, he has always embraced the traditions of “The U.”
When Al Golden was hired, Irvin was sitting right there at the press conference in Coral Gables.
After the press conference, Irvin said, "Confidence is what swagger is. The man (Golden) sits up and talks with confidence. You hear a team takes to the personality of their head coach. Well, he has a confident personality."
Now, Golden is posting one of Irvin’s famous quotes throughout the facility. There is no word whether wide receivers coach George McDonald will have his wideouts embrace the legendary 3-point stance that #47 rocked.
