Mic'd up with USC DBs coach Keith Heyward
Keith Heyward joined the USC staff with head coach Steve Sarkisian back in December, and with spring practices now underway, he's finally to see the type of talent that he'll be working with.
Heyward's past coaching stops include a grad assistant stop at Oregon State (working with the corners and then defensive line), followed by a one year stint coaching the linebackers at Cal Poly before heading back to Oregon State to work with the secondary. In 2012 he joined Sark in Washington to coach the Huskies secondary.
This a good look at his demanding and approachable style that has made him a coveted assistant in the Pac-12. You get the feeling that no detail is too small, and that's a big part of what makes an excellent defensive backs coach.
