New FAU coach, Carl Pelini, did some research before accepting his first college head coaching position on Monday.
Pelini said that he started to do research about FAU about a month ago, and prepared an 18 page booklet which he shared with athletic director Craig Angelos during his interview. Pelini said that he saw a great deal of potential in the program and referred to the Owls as a "sleeping giant ready to take off". Pretty solid compliment for a program that's only had football for 11 years.
The Owls are getting a proven assistant coach, and two time Broyles award nominee in Pelini, and someone that has already hit the ground running.
