Bob Davie and New Mexico welcome Boise to town on Saturday, and Davie noted that while he was looking over Chris Petersen's record since taking over the Boise State program, he first thought there was a typographical error.
"You know, I thought it was a typographical error when I was saw Chris Petersen's 75-7 record at Boise. Is that unbelievable? I mean 75-7...It's remarkable."
Davie explains that the Broncos are the model to follow.
"I'm not talking about off the field or how many people you get to the stadium or all of those things. I'm talking about how they have implemented their systems, stayed in their systems, recruited the kind of kids that they can coach hard, and develop consistency."
Davie notes that the Broncos lost 9 starters on defense last season, most of which went to NFL camps, and still return one of the top defenses in the country. Boise enters the game ranked in the top 25 nationally in pass efficiency defense, total defense, scoring defense, and pass defense.
Coach Davie also points out that the Broncos are the highest scoring team in the college football since 2000, averaging 42 points per game over that period.
Kickoff is scheduled for 6pm ET Saturday.
