Talking on the Joe Rose Radio Show this morning, Randy Shannon said he is not building up the underdog story to his team as the Hurricanes get ready to play at Ohio State.
The “us against the world” mentality isn’t part of Shannon’s plan.
Shannon said, “No. Our guys are a little more experienced. Our thing is we talk about ourselves. If our guys stay focused on the big picture of improving as a football team each week, we’ll be fine.”
“Ohio St is Ohio St. They are going to run the football. We know it and we’ve been preparing for it. You just gotta play sound defense. You can’t really put one guy on Terrell Pryor. We have to believe and trust in each other.”
“Is it the only game we worry about? No. The key is where we finish at the end of the year. We have to use our experience and maturity.”
“The key to the game is the first quarter. If it’s a tough game in the first quarter, then it’s going to be a tough game.”
Miami at Ohio State kicks-off at 3:40 pm EST on ESPN. You can see the entire Week #2 TV Schedule right here.
