Just before signing day, Greg Schiano decided to take his coaching talents to Tampa Bay.
Schiano told the New York Post that he has no regrets about the timing of the decision. "In this business, there’s never a good time to leave" he said.
Schiano went on to say that new head coach Kyle Flood and the rest of the staff did a great job keeping the recruiting class intact. “Had I left in December or January, that might not have been the case,” Schiano added that other schools may have been able to come in and "pound away at them with reasons they shouldn't" have signed with Rutgers.
When it was all said and done, Schiano says that he felt it went as smooth as it could possibly go, and his attention is now focused on filling the last few vacancies on his staff.
