- Mike Gundy ranked his Cowboys #10 and Oklahoma #12 despite losing the head to head matchup Saturday 33-24.
- Art Briles (#10) and Bret Bielema (#12) were the only two coaches to rank the Buckeyes worse than 9th nationally.
- Northern Illinois head coach Rod Carey had his Huskies ranked 13th overall, and the team they lost the MAC title to (Bowling Green) barely in the poll at #25. BGSU head coach Dave Clawson did not have Northern Illinois in his top 25.
- Bo Pelini ranked Nebraska #25 on his poll. He was the only coach to rank the Huskers.
