Skip Holtz decided to take the South Florida Bulls away from campus for training camp. USF is practice at Dodgertown in Vero Beach, FL.
“Much better today. I think they hit a wall last night, but better today.” said Skip Holtz.

During Thursday’s work, Lou Holtz dropped by to observe practice.
Lou Holtz said, “I’m really impressed with this setup. I don’t know how you can have a better setup. The facilities, the dining, you have to be pleased because that puts your players in a good mental atmosphere. In addition, it saves your fields at home.”
Holtz will lead the USF Bulls against Stony Brook on September 4th.
Meanwhile, Holtz' former program, East Carolina, is making progress under first-year head coach Ruffin McNeill.
After Thursday's practice, McNeill stated, "They had a tough time ‘playing the next play.’ The next phase is trying to ‘play the next play.’ Good or bad…’play the next play.’"
"They (wide receivers) are running their routes calmer, they catch the ball calmer. In the spring, it was a little too intense, trying too hard. Now, I see a calmness that comes with confidence."
"I don’t like singling guys out. I know that’s part of it, but I think as a group, they have done a good job."
ECU hosts Tulsa on Sunday, September 5th to start the season.
