Spurrier and Garcia

You just have to know he planned it this way.

Late this week, head ball coach announced that Connor Shaw would start at quarterback rather than Stephen Garcia. Brilliant motivation tactic.

Shaw played the first 21 plays. The team accumulated 69 yards, no points (and was down 17).

In comes Garcia...however he does it, the team rallied behind him. Final score was a Gamecock victory, 56-37. Garcia ran for 2 TDs and threw for one (7-15 for 110 yards, 1 TD - 0 Ints, ran 5 times for 56 and the 2 TDs).

Asked about Garcia's performance post-game, Spurrier offered, "He cleaned up. He shaved. He decided to act like a quarterback."
