Immediately following the Gamecocks 17-6 win over Georgia, Steve Spurrier praised true freshman running back Marcus Lattimore.
Lattimore rushed 37 times for 182 yards and broke numerous tackles in the win.
UGA was held to single digit scoring for the first time since November of 2004.
Spurrier said, “We finally got smart and just gave the ball to Lattimore. He’s one of those great ones. Every now and then you get one, and I think we got one now. He was the difference maker.”
South Carolina moves to 2-0 on the season and will host Furman next Saturday.
