Courtesy a tweet from Kevin Sumlin, we watched the Houston pre-season camp Day #4 practice video.
In the off-season, offensive quality control Kliff Kingsbury was promoted to quarterbacks coach / co-offensive coordinator. Kingsbury, of course, played in the system as a player at Texas Tech under Mike Leach.
Says Kingsbury, “The difference is coaching vs. playing in this offense, really, is the amount of stress. When you’re playing, you have some control. When you’re coaching you have none. It’s much more stressful watching.”
“As far as the added responsibilities…now as co-offensive coordinator, I would say quite a bit more pressure. Last year, I was more behind-the-scenes and could get away with anything. Now, it’s a lot more pressure to perform.”
