"The Brotherhood", a series following the Navy football team throughout the season, provides a great look at Navy's opening week of action against Indiana. From the outside looking in, the trip to Bloomington was just like any other game day, but behind the scenes head coach Ken Niumatalolo's was battling through what had to be one of the emotional weeks in his young head coaching career after losing his mother on Thursday.
Before the game the team stayed loose at the end of the pre game practice by having the players compete in a few fun events (the creative punt catch by one player is one of the most amazing things you'll see all day today) and after the pre game practice the players revealed a sticker that they would be wearing on their shoulderpads in memory of Coach Ken's mother. That moment will give you chills.
When kick off finally came around, the Midshipmen started off hot and were playing with an emotional edge but had to step up and hold off a late Hoosier comeback attempt to take home the "W".
The video is dedicated to the memory of Lamala Nuimatalolo, and please continue to keep coach Niumatalolo and his family in your thoughts during this difficult time.
