The overlooked aspect of the coaching carousel had an interesting article yesterday about an often overlooked aspect of the coaching profession.

Every time that you read about a coach taking a different job or being let go, it's easy to forget that a family often makes that move along with him.

The article takes a look at the far reaching effects of a potential move from the perspectives of high school coaches, coaches making the move, and the children of coaches.

Robert Weiner, head coach at Plant High School (Tampa, Florida), has had the opportunity to coach numerous sons of NFL and college level coaches, and compares the lifestyle to that of a military family on the move.

"For some of them, it is a little bit hard. It's like an army brat kid. That's what it's like to be someone in college or pro football. That's the nature of the business. They [the kids] understand that."

The article is very well done and should be a must read for all coaches. It can be read in it's entirety here.
