A week ago, Indiana receiver Isaac Griffith's life was saved by a teammate who pulled Griffith to shore and saved him from drowning after the two had been pulled suddenly into deep water by a rip current on a Florida beach. Isaac was unconscious when they got him to the beach and his teammate performed CPR while waiting for emergency medical support. Last Tuesday he was in a medically-induced coma and was in critical but stable condition.
Many in the coaching community have been following Isaac's recovery particularly those who know Isaac's father Shannon, the head coach at Manchester University. Countless members of the profession have reached out to help, or simply kept Isaac and his family in their prayers. Tonight, Shannon reached out to us to ask for our help passing along the following message from him.
I wanted to thank the coaching community for praying for and reaching out to my family with concern for my son Isaac. The power of prayer is powerful and I am truly grateful. We are at home in Indiana with Isaac where he will rest up and allow for more healing. He is doing very good and we anticipate him returning to his IU family shortly. He is expected to make a full recovery and will be able to continue playing football! Thank you and God Bless - Shannon Griffith
From all of us here at FootballScoop we would like to echo Coach Griffith's words and thank all of you who kept Isaac and the Griffith's in your thoughts and in your prayers. Thank you
