For the first time in what feels like a long time, they're excited for football in Kentucky. In 2013, the day fall camp opens for the Wildcats isn't just a milestone that marks basketball season being one step closer. At long last, Big Blue Nation is chomping at the bit for Aug. 31 to get here so Kentucky can meet Western Kentucky on the gridiron.
The first hire of the 2012-13 coaching carousel, Kentucky has had the longest wait of any of the 31 programs that changed head coaches after last season. Introduced to a press conference that was more like a pep rally, Mark Stoops has only amplified his fan base's enthusiasm in the months since with a recruiting class that would make John Calipari jealous. And now it's time to hit the field.
This is the video the Wildcats showed their players before the first practice of the Mark Stoops era.
Players appeared loose during Monday's media days activities.
