Toledo head coach Tim Beckman is facing a major challenge this year in regards to the Rockets’ schedule.
This season, Toledo will play two Tuesday night games, a Thursday night game, and three Friday night games.
This morning, Beckman told 990 AM The Sports Animal, “I guess I’m kind of an organizational freak. You have to be able to adjust and adapt. I take it just like a game as a defensive coordinator, being able to adjust and make a call.”
In other words, the logistics and practice scheduling become a pain in rear. The positive is the television exposure. In fact, Toledo will play eight games this season on television.
As Beckman said, “That’s a quite a few for a MAC, non-BCS football team.”
Toledo opens on a Thursday night against New Hampshire. The Rockets will play back-to-back Tuesday night games against Northern Illinois and Western Michigan. Boise State comes to town for a Friday night game. There are also back-to-back Friday night games against Central Michigan and Ball State to end the season.
FYI: In case you planned on attending the Toledo / Miami (OH) game on October 8, the game has been moved to October 22 to avoid a conflict with the Jewish holy day of Yom Kippur.
