Tuberville: It all goes back to having fun, helping & liking each other

Following Monday evening’s practice, Texas Tech head coach Tommy Tuberville stated, “We’re starting to look like a football team.”

Tuberville admitted, “It all goes back to having fun and enjoying being out here. Helping each other out, and liking each other. And enjoying what they’re doing. When you do that and everybody is doing that, you have a chance to get better.”

“We’re starting to look like a football team. We’re starting to play as a group. I’ve been real pleased. We’ve got guys that want to be on special teams. That’s very important. I think we have a chance to be pretty good on special teams.”

The Red Raiders have yet to settle on a starting quarterback, but Tuberville said it was clear that Taylor Potts has a much better first scrimmage than Steven Sheffield.

Former NFL player Troy Vincent will be in Lubbock to share advice with the Red Raiders on Tuesday.

Texas Tech opens with SMU on Sunday, September 5th.
