Urban Meyer explained on Monday evening the Gators are not where they need to be.
On Saturday’s scrimmage performance, Meyer said, “It really was not a very good scrimmage. Not where you’d think we’d be right now. I’m hitting the panic button a little bit right now. We need to get better faster than where we’re at right now. It’s not that we’re not good, it’s just consistency on the offensive and defensive line.”
“Right now it’s not Florida football. We got to get better faster than what we are right now."
Meyer also admitted slight disappointment that a few freshman haven’t cracked the lineup.
“I was actually a little disappointed in some of them because I thought they’d go take a spot,” Meyer said. “A few of the guys are doing decent. I thought we’d have some of those guys cracking the lineup right now, but they really aren’t yet. Not yet.”
