If there’s anyone that knows more than Bob Stoops about the Oklahoma program, it’s Cale Gundy. A native of Midwest City, Okla., Gundy played quarterback at Oklahoma from 1990-93 and left Norman as the most accomplished passer in school history. He then spent the 1994 season as a student assistant coach for the Sooners before taking a four-season detour as an assistant at UAB.

Brought back to Norman as part of Stoops’ original staff in 1999, Gundy enters his 15th season coaching running backs at Oklahoma, adding director of recruiting duties in 2005. The former coach of Adrian Peterson, DeMarco Murray and Quentin Griffin now heads a group that returns five of his top six rushers but, as you’ll see in the video, he isn’t afraid to stick his nose into the Sooners’ offensive line or special teams.
