Video: Experience practice from the eyes of an option QB

More and more teams, at every level of football, are finding ways to get a helmet cam on their quarterback so that they can study exactly where their eyes are. This is especially important in an option offense like New Mexico's where everything in the run game is predicated off a read.

The Lobos finished 5th in the nation in rushing offense last year, and the use of a helmet cam will definitely help them improve both the running, and passing game (where they finished 119th).

Whether you're at the high school, or major college level there are some inexpensive options out there (like GoPro) to help you see through the eyes of your quarterback. Having that kind of information will help you and your staff prepare and coach better, which will help with your offensive efficiency, eventually leading to some more "W's".

Here's some good helmet cam footage of New Mexico and how they used the helmet cam on their quarterback in a recent practice.
