Arizona, Arizona State and Utah are set to join the Big 12, according to multiple reports on Friday. The three's applications are expected to be approved in a meeting of Big 12 leadership on Friday night.
The three will join Colorado, who returned to its former conference last week.
Coupled with Oregon and Washington's defections to the Big Ten, who will join USC and UCLA in joining that conference next year, the moves are expected to be a death blow to a 108-year-old conference that owns more all-sports national championships than any other.
As of this writing, only Stanford, Cal, Oregon State and Washington State are set to remain in a conference that does not have a TV contract beyond the 2023-24 athletic year.
As always, stay tuned to The Scoop for the latest.
